  • Fitment to rim sizes outside of these regulations will place abnormal stress on the tyres, and could lead to tyre failure – something that we do not want!

    As an added measure, we encourage tyre fitters to apply double inflation to ensure full and proper seating of the tyre on the rim.

    Double inflation:

    • after the tyre is properly sealed on the rim , inflate the tyre to the maximum pressure (as per the table above) ,
    • once the tyre is fully seated , release the pressure to zero,
    • inflate the tyre to the maximum pressure again so that the tyre is properly seated on the rim (no visible gaps between tyre and rim flange, around the rim,
    • adjust the pressure to the normal operating pressure as per the vehicle manufacturers’ specifications.

    It all sounds complex – but your fitment centre will guide you.
